Is a charming 19th Century stone and brick cottage, refurbished in the 1980’s by Derbyshire County Council and English Heritage and within walking distance of Whitwell village centre and the beautiful Forestry Commission managed Whitwell Woods (approx 420 acres in area with way marked trails). Offering traditional and cosy accommodation over three floors, Chapel Yard Cottage boasts a wonderful kitchen, cosy lounge and south-east facing patio garden. Well equipped and comfortable, the cottage is ideally located for exploring all that the region has to offer. Over three floors. Three bedrooms: 1 x single, 1 twin, 1 x 2nd floor double. Bathroom with bath basin and WC. The 2nd floor bedroom has an en suite shower room with shower, basin and WC. Fitted kitchen with dining area. Cosy living room and door leading to patio garden with gravel and decking areas. The cottage has original period fireplaces, restored sash windows, stripped natural floorboards in the bedrooms and kitchen, and gas central heating for comfort.
In line with many British cottages of its size and age, the stairs are steeper than those you would find in houses built today. (A cautionary note for young children and anyone who has trouble climbing stairs!)

Full gas central heating with electric hearth fire in living room. Range cooker with gas hobs, grill and two electric ovens, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, colour TV with DVD, radio/cassette/CD player, library of books etc. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. One parking space in courtyard. Small enclosed, south-east facing pretty patio garden with garden furniture and bar-b-que. There is a wooden gate and pathway from the rear of the patio garden to the car parking area. One well behaved dog allowed. Sorry, smoking is not allowed in the cottage.
Well stocked convenience stores, post office, chemist, take aways and pubs all within 5-10 mins walk. Major supermarkets can be found locally in Worksop and Clowne.
A car is not essential for this property as Whitwell has a railway station on the ‘Robin Hood’ Line between Worksop and

For 2009 there is a simple pricing structure of £350 per week (whatever the season), which includes all fuel, bed linen, towels and no extra charge if you bring your pet dog.
Late availability discounts are also available.
Shorter stays than a week may be possible, the Owners should be contacted for availability and price.
